Celebrate Westpac’s 200th anniversary. 200 years before 2017 the Bank’s founders not only created Australia’s first bank and first company, they also laid the foundations for the colonial financial system. The Westpac Group has its origins in the Bank of New South Wales and the Commercial Bank of Australia. The book needed to bring to life this history and capture the people/the human side of the the companies that form the Westpac Group including the Western Australia Bank, the Australian Bank of Commerce, the National Bank of Tasmania, Bank of Melbourne, BankSA, St. George, RAMS and BT Financial Group.

Undertake primary and secondary research across Westpac’s archives, previous bank histories to capture the key milestones in the Bank’s history and the pivotal individuals across it’s 200 years.

Undertake a series of interviews with key Westpac Board members, leadership and executives.

Jaqui worked with Westpac Corporate Communications team to develop the content outline of the book, select the key people and events to write contained stories about; liaised with Westpac Archives team of documents; managed the delivery of the writing, co-autjoring the book and liaising on the design of the book.

Westpac used the book as the showcase in major events across Australia throughout the 200th anniversary year including major launch dinners in each state of Australia and specific client events. A copy of the book was presented to every employee and made available in every Westpac bank branch.
